The Utah County Sheriff's Office will be conducting a DUI checkpoint on Friday night because of the Easter holiday.
The checkpoint will be located on milepost 147 of SR-6, just west of Elberta, and will begin at around 1 p.m. Friday and end by 3 a.m. Saturday.
The checkpoint may be a slight inconvenience for motorists, but the Sheriff's Office asks that citizens be patient to help ensure the safety of the roadways.
"Drivers suspected of impairment will be given roadside standardized field sobriety tests to determine impairment levels and confirmed impaired drivers will be arrested. Drivers not identified as impaired will be allowed to proceed with minimal delay," they said in a news release.
